Construct State (Smikhut)
Smikhut (סְמִיכוּת) chains two nouns together to mean 'X of Y' — no שֶׁל needed. It's everywhere: school, birthday, beach are all smikhut pairs.
Noun + Noun Pairs
The first noun 'leans' on the second.
Feminine ה Becomes ת
Feminine first-nouns swap their ה ending for ת.
'The' Goes on the Second Noun
To make a smikhut definite, add הַ to the last word only.
